PLAGUES, PITS AND LEPERS! Life in Camden's leper colony revealed! My wife is under the floor! The true story of Camden murderer DOCTOR CRIPPEN! The elephants are stampeding! WEIRD ACCIDENTS and STRANGE EVENTS galore! Camden has a dark side to rival that of any London borough. The first murderer to be caught using transatlantic cable lived in Camden and the last woman to be hanged shot her lover outside a Hampstead pub. Riots, disasters, and accidents feature heavily in the area's history: many residents, for example, were caught up in the worst ice-skating accident ever recorded in England, when the ice on the lake in Regent's Park gave way. With grave robbers and grisly graveyard exhumations, eccentric residents, and countless weird, true events, you'll never see the area in the same way again!
