Cooperatives contribute to economic, social, cultural and environmental development, and are a key means of combating poverty in every municipality in the country. They face a number of challenges, including poor governance, weak structuring capacity, heavy dependence on state subsidies and lack of self-financing capacity. COOP-CAMEROON and its sectoral organisations are the driving force behind sustainable development and the structural transformation of the national economy, the Central African sub-region and the OHADA area.
