The book addresses issues chronic underdevelopment and abject poverty in the midst of plenty. It attributes the dilemma of the country to in- appropriate policy articulation and aggregation; castigating the ruling elites for impoverishing the bottom billion because of articulate self-interests. The way forward is through a triangular relationship between state, civil society and the private sector working in unionism for the common good.
