This study is based around the success of cancer control policies introduced by the Irish government with particular regard given to tobacco legislation. The reason for this study is the fact that cancer is one of the most prevalent disease in the western world today, affecting 1 in 3 people. Furthermore, Ireland is one of the leading EU country in terms of tobacco legislation. Lung cancer is one of the most fatal types of cancers, therefore it would be remiss to leave out tobacco legislation as part of this study.
