In this book we describe the evolution of cancer incidence rates in Monastir. The number of cases diagnosed between 2002 and 2013 was 8797. A male predominance was observed, with a sex ratio of 1.4. The median age was 58. Crude incidence rates peaked in patients aged over 60. The age-standardized incidence rate was 174.85/105 inhabitants, and was significantly higher for males (165.91 for males vs. 124.74 for females). Overall, the global cancer incidence rate showed an average annual increase of +5.9% (p<.001) between 2002 and 2013. The projection study showed that the overall incidence rate is predicted to reach 373.7/105 person-years in 2030 (CI95% 326.4- 428).
