The average time to consultation was 11.76 months and 74% did not consult until more than 6 months after the onset of symptoms. At diagnosis, the cancer was classified as stage IV in 80%, stage I 13, 44% and stage II 7, 56%. Squamous cell carcinoma was by far the most common histological type (84.87%) with a predominance of the well-differentiated (40.33%) and poorly differentiated (35.29%) types.
