Bruce Weigl es un poeta contemporáneo estadounidense nacido el 27 de enero de 1949 en Lorain, Ohio. Su obra literaria profundiza en las experiencias de los estadounidenses y ha recibido numerosos premios, incluyendo el Premio Robert Creeley, el Premio Literario Lannan de Poesía, el Premio de Poesía Paterson y el Premio Poeta Laureado de Ohio, entre otros. En 1988 quedó finalista del Premio Pulitzer con su libro más emblemático: 'Canción de Napalm', que explora temas relacionados con la guerra y la experiencia humana. Una parte significativa de la obra de Bruce Weigl está influenciada por su experiencia en la Guerra de Vietnam, que dejó una profunda huella en su poesía.
