The present volume of Cadernos de Poesia brings a series of essays and translations of Amerindian songs. It is an unprecedented panorama of the most relevant works produced in the area over the last 30 years by poets, researchers, and anthropologists who have established a new way of dealing with these songs, in qualified translations often carried out in dialogue with the indigenous peoples themselves. These are texts by Antonio Risério, Bruna Franchetto, Sérgio Medeiros, Josely Vianna Baptista, Pedro Cesarino, Rosângela de Tugny and Guilherme Orlandini Heurich, about songs of peoples such as Araweté, Kuikuro, Bororo, Mbya Guarani, Marubo and Maxakali.
