International Development Partners and governments have for long supported capacity building efforts among the Civil Society Organisations (CSO). What is new perhaps is the role capacity building plays in improving performance of the supported CSOs. In sub-Saharan Africa and Uganda in particular, many of these CSOs have become extint or phased out due to the fact that the services provided are of poor quality and below the national and international standards. This book therefore provides an in-depth understanding of the role that capacity building plays in improving the quality of services delivered by the Civil Society Organisations.
