This book contains cultural and social capitals and the works of Indonesian poets of generation 1970 and 2000. Generation 1970 has strong influence until now. The introductory chapter I outlines the political developments in Indonesia and the aesthetic insights of Indonesian literature from the colonial era to the era of reform. Chapter II describes the theory used to analyze the work of those poets. The theories used include reader response put forward by Beach and Segers and then Bourdieu's thought on cultural and social capitals. Chapter III describes the readers' response to the poets. Chapter IV describes the cultural and social capitals that poets possess. Chapter V discusses the readers' responses to the works of the poets.

Ekarini Saraswati is a lecturer at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia from 1990 until now. She is a doctor of literature, teaching Sociology of Literature, Psychology of Literature, Poetry Studies, Comparative Literature, Creative Writing, Contemporary Literature.
