CAPOEIRA AN AFRO-BRAZILIAN PEDAGOGY - This is a reflection for those who make pragmatic speeches reinforcing cultural, racial and religious differences, I have observed at times that interculturality with an emphasis on Afro-Brazilian culture still suffers remnants of its slave past. The Afro-Brazilian pedagogy called capoeira, through its movements, its rhythm and its instruments, can show how much progress can be made in exploring this culture as an intervener in the social environment. To unveil the possibilities of capoeira as an art-education is one of the tasks I have set myself, and therefore my greatest motivation. To propagate corporal dialogue, where one of the defenses is religious, social and ethnic tolerance, and to listen to the sound of the berimbau is to bring out this Afro-Brazilian pedagogy in order to exchange experiences among different cultures, showing the added values of dignity, mutual respect, secularism, recognition and appreciation of differences and diversity. This reading is in keeping with the work - "Aprender e Gingar e só começar" (To learn and to sway and just get started), for the touching begins in early childhood.
