Born in Bankstown, New South Wales. I am one of 7 children. My father died when I was 6 years old, which left my mother to raise 7 children on her own. When you don't have much growing up you dream and imagine good things, because it's not happening in real life. My grandfather who was a cattle drover/bullock driver use to gather us children around the campfire at his farm to tell us stories. Those times were some of the most memorable and enjoyable times of my young life. When a child hears stories it takes them into a world of fantasy and happiness. They look at the world through these fantasies and see it the way they would like it to be rather then the way it is in reality. And that at times makes them happy. My daughters used to love hearing me tell them stories at bedtime, they encouraged me later in life to put pen to paper.
