In this book, the work focused on the development of a simple optical and GPS based guiding systems for a small car. The established guiding system is responsible for navigation and information processing and it issues the required command. In case of camera based model the guidance system handles the navigation mission using a route reference mark fixed on the ground. While for GPS-guidance the mission is defined using a sequence of way points. Simple mathematical models and image processing algorithms have been developed and utilized to determine the car position and motion deflection accurately with lowest possible computational load.In the GPS based guiding system a simple computational module was developed to calculate the deflection of current car position and its heading-angle relative to the planned route. Both guiding systems (i.e., camera based or GPS based) include same module for originating the proper motion control commands. The proportional steering command origination module depends on the position and heading of the vehicle (relative to the planned route), such that the moving vehicle should stick around the route line till reaching its decided destination.
