Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are Nanostructured materials with outstanding properties. The incorporation of a small amount of CNTs into Aluminum (Al) leads to the formation of high-performance and functional nanocomposites with enhanced mechanical and physical properties. Considerable attention has been focused to the processing and synthesis of CNTs-reinforced composites in the past decade. However, no published book deals exclusively with the issues and properties of CNTs-Al composites. This book mainly focuses on the dispersion processing, consolidation methods, microstructural characterization, mechanical and damping properties of CNTs-Al composites. The various synthetic and fabrication techniques, dispersion of CNTs in composite matrices, morphological and interfacial behaviors are discussed in detail. With a better understanding of the processing-structure-property relationship, CNTs-reinforced composites with predicted and tailored mechanical properties, can be designed and fabricated. This book aids as a valuable reference source for materials scientists, physicists, and mechanical engineers engaged in the research and development of CNTs-reinforced Al matrix nano-composite.
