Today, cancer is one of the key causes of mortality in modern societies. A variety of anticancer drugs have been employed in cancer treatment. Many systems based on drug delivery have been developed to enhance bioavailability and reduce side effects of the anticancer drug. In this book, we investigated the adsorption mechanism of paclitaxel anticancer drug on pristine and functionalized carbon nanotubes in aqueous solutions. The results of this work can give an insight into the effect of functional groups on carbon nanotube-based drug delivery systems, which could be helpful in future experimental studies by medical scientists.
