This is summarizes the synthesis, characterization and photocatalytic activity of carbonaceous and TiO2 nanocomposite for efficient hydrogen production. In this, developed various catalysts such as TiO2 doped AC, FCNT-TiO2, TiO2 decorated on MWCNTs, graphitic-carbon-TiO2, Cu/FCNT-TiO2 QDs ternary catalysts through hydrothermal, solvothermal and wet impregnation process. The mentioned catalysts crystallinity, morphology, recombination rate, light absorption strength, composition elements and surface area results investigated by the X-ray diffraction, Transmission Electron Microscopy, Photoluminescence spectra, Ultraviolet-visible Diffused Reflectance Spectra, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy and Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy advanced characterization techniques. The synthesized catalysts hydrogen production evolved under natural solar-light, and some catalyst activities under solar simulator. Furthermore, the hydrogen test also done by using seawater with AC-TiO2 catalyst. The hydrogen production was analysed with Gas Chromatograph (Shimadzu GC-2014) equipped thermal conductivity detector (TCD) and molecular sieves/5A° column under a constant flow of nitrogen gas.
