Atherosclerosis is a common disease worldwide, worsened by a sedentary lifestyle and eating fatty foods.Patients with atherosclerosis often undergo coronary artery bypass grafting inevitably, which exerts some undesired mental and physical aftermaths, which in turn need to be overcome by medication and rehabilitation. This book starts with comprehensive and comprehensible descriptions of some basic concepts related to atherosclerosis. It explains how the process begins from early childhood, and improves over time depending on the activities the individual does and the lifestyle she or he takes. What is special is the approach taken in this study: how a combination of resistance and aerobic exercises in the course of rehabilitation improves CABG patients.Careful experimentation on two groups of patients and the subsequent analysis of the levels of CCL2 and CCL5 genes expressed following this particular rehabilitation provided significant results, and showed its particular benefits for functional capacity.
