This book addresses some shortcomings in the theory and practice of the orientation towards the pedagogical profession exercised in the foreign language teacher in training, who, despite the educational influence he/she receives, is limited upon graduation to solve professional problems in the spheres of action in which he/she is inserted. This was a study carried out during some school years. The results presented here contain a characterization of the professional orientation in the formative process of the Didactics of the foreign language, it is systematized, from theoretical and methodological perspectives of its foundations; a pedagogical model is designed and founded, as well as the relationships between its subsystems and components. It also reveals a practical contribution that lies in a pedagogical strategy organized in stages, with actions that favor the education of the personality of the teacher in training, the development of a coherent way of acting and in the profession, as well as a pedagogical professional awareness. The pedagogical model and the pedagogical strategy were subjected to evaluation by means of expert criteria.
