Carl Schroeder, a Minneapolis-based writer and composer, is a 2005 graduate of St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, where he earned a degree in music composition. He wrote "A Letter from Yzabeth" in 2023 based on characters from "The Fenn and Zorro Letters," a novel co-written with Mari Kempton in 2000. Further adventures in the Fenn and Zorro series may be forthcoming. Schroeder's other projects include more than 60 musical works for concert band, orchestra and solo piano - including a solo piano suite inspired by the novella "A Letter from Yzabeth" - and a book of short personal essays, "Carl Confessions: A Collection of Incriminating, Embarrassing and Completely True Short Stories." Since 2015 he has been the Minnesota Orchestra's publications editor. His website is at carlschroeder.com.
