Implantology is something I have strong inclination towards. Dr. Carl Misch is one of the pioneering names in the field of implant dentistry. The contribution made by Dr. Misch is incalculable. Hence, when I recently learned that Dr. Carl Misch was diagnosed with a brain tumor and, after surgery, had to retire from practice, I was crestfallen. News like this, whether it is about someone close to us or anyone who has positively impacted us in some way, big or small, is hard to believe and very difficult to accept. When it is news about someone as great as Dr. Misch, who has such a zeal for his career, energy for life and people, and still with much to share, we find ourselves asking, "Why? Why now?" Well, life is indeed precious, and it can seem so short. However, when one lives it to the max like Dr. Misch has, it can be one amazing ride! He is obviously driven by the highest goals and ideals, and he has managed to share his time, talents, and professional knowledge like few among us. He has made a mark on so many with his tireless work in implant dentistry. As a gratitude of appreciation, I hereby have tried to summarize his contributions to the field of implant dentistry.
