Sandra Louise Woodward Darling, known as Alexandra Day, is the author of the beloved "Good Dog, Carl" series, including titles like "Carl Goes Shopping" and "Carl's Christmas." Born in 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sandra grew up in a creative family that enjoyed painting during family excursions. Living on a farm in Kentucky, she developed a passion for horses and dogs. Sandra illustrated her first book, "The Teddy Bears' Picnic," in 1983. Inspired by an old German picture sheet, she created "Good Dog, Carl," with her Rottweiler, Toby, as the model. She resides in Seattle, Washington.
