Jan Kohler, is Dutch for John, pronounced yan. He was born and raised in the Netherlands. His dream was to become an architectural illustrator and achieved that in Los Angeles after studying evenings at Santa Monica College and Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. In 1986 he became a freelance architectural illustrator in a traditional manner, hand painted in watercolor and acrylics. His work has expanded to other art forms and now book illustrations.
