Tuberculosis is the 2nd leading cause of death from infectious diseases worldwide. Ethiopia is among 22 high TB burden countries that calls for improved TB case detection and diagnosis to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by the disease through the following actions: -Improve advocacy and social mobilization activities to raise community awareness on TB symptoms and treatment - Reactivate TB surveillance in the district and mainly focus on active case search - Improve diagnostic methods and access for early detection and care of the disease - Conduct process/ impact evaluation on TB surveillance system and treatment - provide capacity building for health workers to improve quality of health care.
