John Berger was one of the most lucid, incisive, and nonconformist voices of the European intellectual scene. After attending the Central School of Arts in London, he worked as a drawing teacher before turning to art criticism and other writing. His books include La apariencia de las cosas, Para entender la fotografía, and Sobre los artistas.
