Autorenporträt
Born to Dilip and Arati Bardhan in 1970, Monika Bardhan is the youngest of three daughters. She was raised in Seremban, Malaysia, and did all her schooling there. Soon after completing her secondary school education, she attended Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, India for her Pre-University degree. Aspiring to be a doctor from a very young age, she went to Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India to pursue a Medical degree and obtained her MBBS certificate in 1997. She then got her Masters of Medicine in Palliative Care from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia in 2005. Monika has always been inspired to write poetry by her late maternal grandfather, Upendra Chandra Das, and her mother, Arati Bardhan. Writing poetry came very naturally to Monika, and she has been composing poems since the age of nine. Besides her love for poetry, her favourite pastimes include reading, writing, painting, travelling, cooking, singing, music, watching movies and gardening.
