A look at the relevance in our contemporary life of the mediaeval Cathars - the 'good men and women'. Articles and talks, many of them from the White Eagle Lodge magazine Stella Polaris. Colum Hayward suggests that although the title 'Cathar' meant little to the followers of the solace heresy, it offers a suggestion of a collection of beliefs and ideals that can really inform the choices we make for our lives in the twenty-first century. If we believe, as many do, that 'we were once Cathars', now is the time to own that title and live up to the heritage that was once so special to us.

Autorenporträt
Colum combines academic training with an ever-questioning sense of the spiritual and how it may represent a reality that is richer and more valuable to us than the material. He is the grandson of Grace Cooke, founder of the White Eagle Lodge, whose vision in the early days of the Cathar rediscovery continues to inspire him. Today he leads retreats in Cathar country and elsewhere and is actively involved in the White Eagle Lodge in London. He survived a 600 ft mountaineering fall in 1999.
