John Townsend is an author of children's books (fiction, nonfiction, and plays). He was a secondary school teacher, playwright, and storyteller before concentrating on writing full-time. He is a Reading Champion for the UK's National Literacy Trust, a Reading Patron, and a frequent visitor to schools, literacy projects, and anywhere books are celebrated.
