Theileriosis comes in multiple forms, one being Theileria annulata or, Tropical Theileriosis; and the other is known as East Coast Fever caused by Theileria parva. The disease is transmitted through an infected tick's saliva. The tick must remain on the host, usually cattle, for 48-72 hours to pass the infection. The disease puts roughly a quarter billion cattle at risk each year. The contents are organized into 7 chapters. The 1st chapter very briefly introduces the tick borne diseases in ruminants and then provides a concise overview of clinical signs, diagnosis and treatment of theileriosis in cattle. Previous research on theileriosis in ruminants is reviewed in chapter 2. The remaining 3 chapters cover the methodology, findings with discussion in the light of past and present research in this area. The book is not written in a detailed and comprehensive fashion, but there is a relatively extensive bibliography. This book is aimed at academics and professionals in animal production and veterinary science. I think that readership will be well served by it. But livestock producers and others involved in farm animal husbandry will also find much of interest and to their benefit
