After a short summary on the essentials of Cauer Filters, all relevant equations describing the location of the zeros and poles of these filters are given. For all steps efficient algorithms are delivered. Then geometrical constructions for the poles and zeros are displayed which relate the location of these points in a simple way to Cartesian ovals, Cassinic curves, hyperbolas, and ellipses. Also further relevant values of Cauer filters are computed as well as the transferfunctions of Cauer filters with all constants related to the design parameters. The results also permit to design filters having prescribed Q-values. Finally results for the realisation of purelyanalog designs are given.
