As he looks forward to transitioning into junior high, Jackson comes in with a chip on his shoulder, vowing not to make the same mistakes. As peers around him seem to fair well and enjoy the newness of "junior high", he is forced to question his piece of reality. Jackson being known for his natural athletic talent, many in his circle did not have his best interest at heart. This new awareness required Jackson to confront his internal matters when he comes face to face with "Big Boy Parks". Therefore, he begins to reject the advice and support from these very people and finds himself in trouble once he is face to face with the person he has been fighting against this entire time. During his journey he finds unlikely allies as he discovers the truth behind the real Jackson.

Gail Cheatam was born in Holly Grove, Arkansas. She is an educator by trade, teaching within elementary, secondary and higher education. While she is a life-long learner herself, she enjoys reading, writing, gardening and quilting. Gail has a B.A. from MidAmerica Nazerene University, a M.S. from Kansas State University, and is currently finishing up her Master's of Divinity at Western Baptist College. Married with five children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild, Gail enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is an active member in her community serving on local boards and helps the underprivileged.
