The importance of public sector activities have grown significantly over the last few decades in Saudi Arabia. It is argued that such involvement often impacts economic growth significantly. Salim A. Bagadeem (Ph.D., La Trobe University) is a Professor at the Arab Open University, Jeddah. Areas of research include macroeconomics, applied economics and economics policies. Worked as a researcher at King Abdul Aziz University as well as King Abdullah Air Force College, Jeddah. The Author also worked as casual tutor at La Trobe university.
