This book is going to discuss the causes of low pass rates in Zimbabwe s rural day primary and secondary schools. The writer perceived the problems of poor pass rates in terms of multiple causations rather than single causation. After conducting a case study in Masvingo province, which the biggest of Zimbabwe s ten provinces, the writer conduced that the causes of poor pass rates in Zimbabwe s rural day primary and secondary schools fall under four major areas which the writer is going treat is as separate chapters, namely: Lack of resources material in Zimbabwe s rural day school and brutality unleashed on Zimbabwe teachers by politicians and school authorities and employers since 2000. Poor pass rates in Zimbabwe s rural day primary schools cause for concern to all stakeholders in education like: Parents, Students, teachers, government and the employers. In the final chapter of the book, the writer will discuss the theoretical perspectives of the cause of low pass rates in schools with particular reference to the 5 systems theory and Maslow s needs hierarchy as they apply to all the causes discussed under the four chapters.
