Credible, compelling, chilling... The night before Michael Boylen, a cyber-security expert, leaves home for a month on assignment, Katherine - his wife of almost 20 years - informs him she is no longer in love with him. Emotionally blindsided, he begins his trip to France and meets a woman on the plane who draws him into a world where nothing is quite what it appears to be. Set in the heart of Paris during the Holiday season, this novel explores the timeless issues of trust vs. deceit, sex vs. love, and empathy vs. fanaticism in a way that is remarkably compelling and credible. The plot winds its way to an ending that will surprise and not disappoint, for it will leave you thinking about the blind spots in your own perceptions, and the illusion of normalcy that belies the everyday reality of our complex and unpredictable world.
