The author was born and raised in San Diego, California, where she met and married her husband and adopted three children with special needs out of foster care. She majored in child development and has written curriculum materials for young children. Currently, she works as a Registered Behavioral Technician (RBT) teaching autistic children communication skills. She resides with her family in Branson, Missouri, where she enjoys playing the guitar and ukulele, writing, hiking, and sightseeing.
