The Performing Dignity Project was initiated to recognize the work that happens in smaller cabarets around the world, starting in Pattaya, Thailand, followed by work in Koh Samui and Bangkok, Thailand. This is the fourth work in the series and looks at the artists of Chiang Mai, Thailand. Currently, there are various opportunities to see members of the transgender community and other artists perform in Chiang Mai but this work looks specifically at the artists of Chiang Mai Cabaret Show, Anusarn Night Market. These performance artists were photographed during various live performances, and this work aims to express the energy, passion and creative work that the performers share as artists. Celebrate life through those that share their passion with us, the audience.

The Performing Dignity Project is conducting research into performing at cabaret theaters as well as smaller venues, in various projects around the world. The purpose of the research is to explore how both audience and performers consider gender through performance work. The research is being conducted by the Performing Dignity Project for the purposes of understanding and celebrating gender performance. Five works on cabaret in small venues are being released in: - Pattaya, Koh Samui, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket. www.performingdignity.org
