Cellulase enzymes occupy a prominent position in modern biotechnology by optimizing or even replacing processes that already exist. The application of Cellulase enzymes and microorganisms to the sustainable production of chemicals, biopolymers, biofuels from renewable resources offers great opportunities. The work deals with the screening of potential of large number of microbes isolated from municipal solid waste, compost & soil, optimization of physical and nutritional conditions for high yielding of enzyme activity, production of enzyme, partial purification of enzyme and determined molecular weight of the enzyme and finally used these potential strain for biodegradation of cellulosic material (municipal solid waste) by potential strain. Municipal solid waste is suitable for composting because of the presence of high percentage of organic matter (40-50%). The Trichoderma viride FGCC 35 had promising effects in the biodegradation of organic municipal solid waste to mitigate themunicipal solid waste impact on the land filling sites.
