Between the covers of this little book are thoughts and plausible solutions from a Viet Nam combat veteran's perspective on issues facing each and every one of us. Let the intriguing chapter titles draw you into the insight John has received from his many life experiences. In the world of today, faced with the challenges now presented by changes in our environment, created by humanity, John offers possible solutions and a fresh view of the situation. This is a rather unique book in that it includes a collection of John's short stories (written in college) and a collection of John's poetry (written when he was a patient at Tripler for PTSD) and a summary of his life from birth to the present time (including photographs) and John's book-Central Equilibrium. Some of what is included in this book was thought about by John twenty-five years ago. The last chapter contains John's proposal for the people of planet Earth to build the largest structure ever conceived or attempted by humankind. The other chapters in this book are some of John's solutions and thoughts of the present and his visions of the future.

Autorenporträt
John E. Olsen was born and raised in Bozeman, Montana.

He worked on farms and ranches from age ten to age eighteen. He then joined the marines and was in Viet Nam from 1968-1969.

After returning, he attended Montana State University and received a degree in English with a mass communications option.

He stayed in Montana for thirty-seven years and then moved to Santa Barbara, California, and then to Seattle for ten years. After his divorce, he moved to Maui, Hawaii. After "blowing out," he went to Tripler Hospital, on Oahu, for ten months of intensive PTSD therapy. Then he moved to Hilo, Hawaii. While there he attended a Viet Nam combat veterans group. He still attends that group.

He spent eleven years, on his back, in his condo, watching television for twelve hours a day.

He likes to say that "God woke him up" in 2014, after eleven years of dormancy.

He started a nonprofit corporation composed of Viet Nam combat veterans for the purpose of providing free community orchards and gardens throughout Hawaii and the mainland.

His corporate home base is in Hilo, Hawaii. He runs his corporation from a small bedroom, in his condo, via fax, phone, and computer. John was in residential construction for thirty years and was in real estate investments for twenty of those years.

John is a Viet Nam combat veteran.
