In this book, we analyze the concentration of car dealerships in three important axes of circulation in the south-southwest sector of the city of Presidente Prudente (SP), as well as identifying the locational choices of these establishments and their relationship with the actions of social agents, which provide us with elements for understanding the logic of urban space production at different times in the process of structuring this city. Thus, the central question that guided the work was: What factors contribute to the concentration of car dealerships along Avenida Manoel Goulart and Avenida Antônio Canhetti and Avenida Joaquim Constantino? The search for explanations has helped to evaluate the role of territorial growth in the southern sector of the city, associated with the implementation of several gated subdivisions, revealing one of the multiple dimensions of the recent trend towards socio-spatial segmentation of urban space.
