The university institution requires teachers with knowledge and skills in their professional training, but education for peace is also indispensable, with a view to social transformation, especially in an environment with notable levels of violence, such as contemporary Venezuela. For this reason, the peace education programme is offered to teachers at the Universidad Nacional Experimental del Táchira. The programme proposes objectives, strategies and contents to facilitate and promote learning; it is based on theoretical references on education for peace, such as the culture of peace and violence and conflict. It raises the axiological implications, by means of the experiential pedagogical approach, through the socio-affective methodology and the non-violent conflict model. With the execution of this contribution, it is hoped that the teaching staff will appropriate guidelines or elements that will guide their behaviour as university teachers towards the construction of a culture of peace.
