Thus this study aimed to present the challenges to be faced by a company in the food industry in its first family succession process. Specific objectives were: to describe the company's history, the constitution of the family and of the family members that are part of the collaborators; to present the profile of the company's owner and of the possible successor; to identify if there is a plan for the succession in the company; and to point out the challenges faced by the company in the succession process. Methodologically, the monograph is characterized as descriptive research, qualitative and case study.
