Part 1 identifies contemporary challenges of the modern economy as barriers to sustainable development. Part 2 reflects the future direction of sustainable development of the countries. Part 3 considers the problems and prospects for sustainable development of regions. Part 4 focuses on the problems and prospects for the sustainable development of enterprises and industries. Part 5 sheds light on the economic and legal foundations and cooperative mechanisms of sustainable development. Part 6 offers recommendations for enhancing the use of digital technologies offered by Industry 4.0 to support the SDGs.
Scientists whose research interests include sustainable economic development are the primary target audience for this book. For the primary target audience, the book forms a systemic view of the global challenges of sustainable development and offers a set of scientific and methodological recommendations to provide an effective response to these challenges at every level of the economy. Buchaev, rector of the Dagestan State University of National Economy, specialist in the field of mathematical modeling in economics, investment calculations, researcher of problems of management of industries and sectors of the regional economy and factors of economic growth of the regional economy. He made a significant contribution to the development of systems analysis research in economics, the securities market and the digital economy. Yahy G. Buchaev is an active participant and organizer of leading international, all-Russian and regional scientific forums and conferences. Arsen S. Abdulkadyrov, Senior Research Fellow, Research Institute of Management, Economics, Politics and Sociology of Dagestan State University of National Economy (since 2019), Associate Professor of the Department of Oil and Gas Well Drilling, Dagestan State Technical University (since 2018). Arsen S. Abdulkadyrov is an expert in the field of economics of high-tech industries, digital economy, analysis and modeling of economic processes in the fuel and energy complex, economic and national security. He is awarded with a commendation from the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation (2012). Arsen S. Abdulkadyrov is the author of 120 scientific works, including 5 monographs (2 copyrighted), participates in scientific grants and large projects. Julia V. Ragulina, Ph.D. (economics), professor, Head of the Chair of compliance and controlling at RUDN University (Moscow, Russia). She is the honored worker of science and technology of the Russian Federation and the honored worker of higher professional education. She is the author of more than 200 publications and a range of monographs on state control and audit, state and municipal management, and economics of municipal entities (including monographs with co-authors from Harvard University, USA).
