The choices each of us make daily can be the difference between life and death. How can those in the education system impact a child's choices so that they don't go down the wrong path? You will better understand the complexities involved in the day to day decisions of students, and the staff that serve them. This is the story of one of those students and his former middle school principal who, after looking back, believe that the influence of a Champion could have saved lives.

Autorenporträt
Amy Bindas has been in Educational Administration for over 25 years. She served fourteen of those years as principal of a diverse, inner city middle school of 1,000 students with an almost 80% poverty rate. She has experienced the deaths of three of her students. This is not only the story of the first death, but also of the hope that lessons learned have brought. Amy is the mother of two grown sons, Evan and Jordan, and has been married to her husband Steve for 23 years. In addition to her work in schools, she has taught classes to pre-service teachers as well as administrators in four colleges and universities. She has written two prior books on marriage, and speaks publicly about marriage, family, leadership, and education. Amy now serves students as the Director of Teaching and Learning in a rural district, and makes time to be a champion for 2-3 students a year.
