Anne C. Loveland (1938-2023) was T. Harry Williams Professor Emerita at Louisiana State University. Born in Jamaica, NY, she earned her PhD in history from Cornell University. She authored several books, including Southern Evangelicals and the Social Order, 1800-1860 and American Evangelicals and the U. S. Military, 1942-1993.
