Dr. Cristina Rizza-LePort was born in Bologna, Italy. After graduating Summa cum Laude from the University of Bologna Medical School, she completed her medical training at Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, and at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Nuclear Cardiology, and has been practicing medicine in Orange County, CA for more than forty years. Dr. LePort is also the Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of Genescient, a biotech company devoted to genetic research on aging and longevity. She is the author of four medical thrillers and an Amazon Charts bestselling author. Her debut novel DISSECTION was described as "high stakes and breathless suspense" by Lee Child and "Moving at a frantic pace" by Tess Gerritsen. In the Kindle store, DISSECTION reached No. 1 bestseller in the Political Thriller and Suspense categories and No. 2 in the Medical Thriller category.
