David Dondero is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist known for his introspective lyrics and distinctive, folk-infused sound. Born in Duluth, Minnesota, in 1969, Dondero has built a career that spans several decades, earning a dedicated following for his emotionally raw and often narrative-driven songwriting. His music is characterized by a blend of folk, punk, indie rock, and Americana, with influences ranging from Black Flag & Woody Guthrie to Daniel Johnston.Dondero began his musical journey in the 1990s as a singer for the band Sunbrain and the drummer for the band This Bike Is a Pipe Bomb before transitioning to a solo career. He released his debut album, The Pity Party, in 1999, which set the stage for a prolific output of work. Over the years, he has released numerous albums, including Shooting at the Sun with a Water Gun (2001), The Transient (2003), and South of the South (2005), and most recently Immersion Therapy(2023) each showcasing his storytelling ability and unique voice.-Donders's music delves into themes of love, loss, travel, and the human condition.
