Biofuel is a clean burning fuel made from natural renewable energy resource. Chicken feather, manure and waste meals are poultry waste. With the recent development of waste management strategy viz; waste recycle, re-use and waste reduction etc., chicken feather has been put to various uses such as in the production of animal feed, organic fertilizer, biodegradable plastic and others. It has been mentioned in some text/resource that chicken feather can be used to mop oil spill. In this experimental study, a computerized 4-stroke, single cylinder, constant speed, direct injection diesel engine was operated on poultry litter oil methyl ester of B20 blend. Various engine performance, combustion and emission parameters such as brake thermal efficiency, heat release rate, cylinder pressure, carbon monoxide, unburnt hydrocarbons and oxides of nitrogen etc. were recorded from the acquired data. From the properties and engine test results, it has been established that poultry litter oil biodiesel is a better replacement for diesel without any engine modification only by varying injection pressure from 180bar to 200bar.
