Cellulose isolation from corncobs waste. has been performed to obtain microcrystalline cellulose (MCC). It was activated by NaOH solution with varied concentration in range from 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, 14% and 17%. Characterization of the physicochemical properties of the product microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) includes the analysis of the solubility yield (±1 mL) yaitu : HCL 2M, CH3COOH 3M, HNO3 4M, H2SO4 2M, NH4OH 1M, NH3 1M, KOH 1M dan NaOH 2M. Viscosity measurement and degree of polymerization (DP). Analysis functional group using FT-IR Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with 1000 times magnification is used to determine the morphological structure of the amorphous and crystalline regions of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) produced, X-Ray Diffraction analysis was performed to determine the change of crystallinity and amorphous regions, type of cellulose crystals and calculate the degree of crystallinity (CrI) and amorph (Iam) and crystal (I002) data exist for lattice parameters as Cohen's analytic requirements.
