Proteolytic enzymes are ubiquitous in occurrence, being found in all living organisms, and are essential for cell growth and differentiation. The extracellular proteases have commercial value and find multiple applications in various industrial sectors. Although there are many microbial sources available for producing proteases, only a few are recognized as commercial producers. Among enzymes of commercial importance are proteases, which occur in animal, plants and micro-organisms. Proteases account for about 60% of the total amount of the enzymes sale in the world with 2/3 of this amount, being of microbial origin .Bacterial proteases are mainly involved in providing peptide nutrients for microorganism. However, the production of bacterial proteases could contribute to the pathogenesis of infection and therefore they could be considered as virulence factors. The present study was conducted by screening soil bacteria in an attempt to isolate most potent bacteria producing-protease and to obtain optimal conditions affecting on the productivity of proteases.
