Clusters are identified as one of these spatial forms: an agglomeration of firms that interact among themselves and with other institutions to generate knowledge and new products based on geographical proximity. To verify this argument, from the perspective of the interaction between research groups at universities in the Metropolitan Region of Recife and business organizations that demand the technology produced by those, is the focus of this monograph.
