Baron spent 20 seasons playing in the minor leagues, from 1931 to 1951, reaching as high as Triple-A in two seasons (1946 and 1947). He did not hit below .322 from 1934 to 1937, and he finished his career with a 2,319 hits and a .306 batting average in 2,080 minor league games. He led his respective league in triples in 1937, 1939 and 1944, and in 1936 he led the East Texas League in runs scored.
